Anguissa Bicycle Kick Opens the Scoring for Napoli
The Derby del Sole between Napoli and AS Roma ended without a winner. In Serie A matchday 8 of 2026/2027 at Stadio Diego Armando Maradona on Saturday (24/10/2026), evening WIB, the two sides drew 3-3 in a game that swung until the final minutes.
Napoli took the lead through a spectacular goal from André-Frank Zambo Anguissa in the 28th minute. A Matteo Politano free kick was cleared by Marten de Roon only as far as Anguissa, who met it with a bicycle kick from around 14 yards and sent the ball into the top corner, leaving goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini rooted to the spot.
The hosts doubled their lead three minutes after the restart. A Politano cross from the right was met by a Scott McTominay diving header at the far post in the 48th minute, and the ball crossed the line despite Gollini's attempt to claw it away. It was McTominay's first Serie A goal of the season after his brace against Bodø/Glimt in the Champions League.

Roma Fight Back Twice from Behind
Roma refused to give in. Matías Soulé pulled one back in the 69th minute after exchanging passes with Donyell Malen and bending a left-footed finish into the bottom corner from the edge of the area. Five minutes later, Leonardo Balerdi levelled at 2-2 with a close-range finish from Santiago Castro's knockdown at a corner.
Napoli went back in front in the 83rd minute. After Gollini parried a Leonardo Spinazzola effort, McTominay pounced on the loose ball with a hard, low strike from outside the box into the bottom corner to make it 3-2. The Scotland midfielder's second goal looked set to decide the game for the hosts.
But Roma levelled again in the 89th minute. A Wesley cross was met by a Balerdi header at the far post; the ball was clawed onto the post by Alex Meret but had already crossed the line. Napoli protested, feeling Sam Beukema had been fouled in the build-up, and coach Massimiliano Allegri was sent off in stoppage time for dissent.
Roma Keep Their Unbeaten Run Alive
The draw extended Roma's unbeaten Serie A run to 15 games in a row since April. The Giallorossi now sit third in the table with 18 points from eight games, just one point behind the leaders, while Napoli are stuck in ninth with 11 points.
The match stats showed just how open the game was: Roma held 60 per cent of possession and took 24 shots, but Napoli were more clinical, with nine of their 15 shots on target. For Napoli, the result felt like a defeat, having twice surrendered the lead in the closing minutes.
Next up, Roma host Cagliari in Serie A, while Napoli travel to Monza. This Derby del Sole confirmed both sides as serious contenders near the top, with Roma keeping their unbeaten momentum and Napoli still searching for consistency in the league.
